Introduction:
Ever since Google first launched their nexus line in January 2010, they have partnered with at least 3 major companies to launch their flagship Nexus smart phones. They are known to have an unlocked boot loader, no custom graphical user interfaces & receive the first system updates with regards to any new android OS versions.
The first Nexus phone was manufactured by HTC, 2nd and 3rd by Samsung. The current Nexus 4 is manufactured by LG and is followed by the much awaited Nexus 5.

Specifications Rumours & Opinions:

Screen: 5” full HD display with IPS technology

Google provides the Nexus 5 with a full HD 4.95” display (445 ppi) giving its rivals a good run for their money considering LG who has created a beautiful full HD 5.2” screen for their own flagship the G2. For today’s high end smart phones this is definitely a standard in screen size.

Chipset: Quad-core Snapdragon 800 SoC CPU clocked at 2.3 Ghz & Adreno 330 GPU
Offering the latest chipset would not only be a good thing but also help it perform to the best levels as this being a Google phone, in benchmarks & performance it has the potential to post the best scores as it will run Android in its actual stock UI.

Ram:   2 GB
2GB RAM has become a norm these days, so it is no surprise that Nexus 5 offers the same amount of RAM. This would suffice for most of the task and even multitasking will be smooth.

Battery: 2300 mAh,-non removable
The Battery should have been a bit more in capacity as the screen is no longer a 720p display. We can only hope that the UI and screen turn out to be power efficient.

Memory: 16 GB and 32 GB in-built, non expandable
Offering a 16GB starting model & 32GB also seems to be a good choice however there should have been a microSD card slot for expandable memory options considering the formatted memory available to user would be lesser.

Camera: 8 MP with OIS
With other flagships offering camera resolutions of 13MP and above (exception being HTC One with its 4MP ultra pixel camera), the 8MP may seem a low down on camera offering but if LG manages to include Optical Image Stabilization with this camera, then it could prove to be a winner.

OS: Android v4.4, KitKat
Android v4.4 KitKat is debuting with the Nexus 5 as Google has always launched their new Nexus line of devices with their latest version of android. It brings several new capabilities to the Android OS, some of which are exclusive to Nexus 5 only at the moment.

Price: 16 GB $349 / 32 GB $399
The pricing between minimum & maximum storage options will be $50. As it has been the case with Nexus series, Nexus 5 brings the best in class features at an affordable pricing.
