Google Person Finder Uttarkhand Floods

Google Inc, on Thusday launched an Indian version Person Finder Application to help and track down their relatives or missing person, after heavy flooding in northern state of Uttarakhand.

While, the government has set up helpline numbers for people in need of rescue or looking to their relative ones, Internet company Google has launched an online tool Called person Finder, the tool is available in English and Hindi Language.

Google's Person Finder a project of Google's Crisis Response its Philanthropic arm of search giant is an online Database that allows people to post and search missing people.

Application allows people to share information about those who affected and allows to scan records of people who can't be tracked down.

All data entered into Google Person Finder is available to the public and searchable by anyone, this app also let press agencies, non-government agencies and other agencies to the database and recieve updates by using Person Finder API based on PFIF(People Finder Interchange Format) open standard.
