Samsung wants to leave no stones unturned in making sure that they are the leader in mobile devices. They are offering devices right from smartphones to tablets and everything in between (read phablets) at all price points and sizes possible. Even in terms of OS, the devices run on Android, Windows Phone and in future on Tizen (it’s being developed by Samsung). Now, they are launching devices with various processors as well! Samsung already uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon and its own Exynos range or processors, and some reports suggest they may also use Intel Atom processor for a tablet.The evidence to support this report comes from the benchmarking utility- GLBenchmark which shows the benchmarks of various devices based on their 3D performance. The model name of the device seems to be ‘Samsung GT-P5200’. Let’s see what the rumored Galaxy Tab 3 may have-

Benchmark Comparison

Display

While the device hardware seems to be superb, it’ display and specifically resolution doesn’t generate much interest. The device will be having a 10.1 inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. This equates to paltry pixel density of 149.5 pixel per inches.

Hardware

According to the benchmarks, the device will be powered by Intel Atom Z2560 which is a Dual-core processor having 1.6 GHz speed and supports Hyper-Threading functionality. It will be having a Power VR SGX 544 MP2 graphics processor with a clock speed of 400 MHz. The hardware seems to be really powerful and according to the benchmark stats. We compared Galaxy Tab 3 with Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and it really blew the Galaxy Note tablet with its graphic capability.

The device will be powered by latest version of Android- 4.2.2 (or JellyBean).

Our Take

It seems that Samsung is targeting this device to the budget customer packing an excellent hardware and decent display.
