How To Protect Your Facebook Account

Facebook, a name describe World No.1 social networking website, many millions of people worldwide enjoy connecting with family and friends via Facebook, People share pictures, funny websites and videos. But as you can see some people try to access your facebook account via phising or guessing your password or hijacking your account using keyloggers or stealers. 

I will show you how to protect your Facebook account in diffrent various ways.

i. Activate Secure Browsing

Facebook allows users to browse Facebook over a secure https connection, this will add a security to your Facebook Account, this feature is not enabled by defualt.

Advantages, if you browsing on public internet access areas like internet cafe, or collage campus, libraries etc, there is huge risk your facebook login detials might be detect by illegal third party software.

How to Enable Secure Browsing, Open Account Settings, and Click Security, Click on the Secure Browsing section, and Save you changes.

After this, once you log in, you will see that Facebook uses https:// instead of http://


ii. Confirm Your Mobile Number

Confirming your mobile number is best ways to enhance you account security, this good way to protect your account, even if you lose or forget your password, facebook will be able to send you a new one via SMS to your mobile.

How to Add Mobile number, go to Account Settings, and click mobile and click add a Phone.

iii. Disconnect Previous Active Sessions

Disconnecting previous active sessions, this good thing about Facebook is that it lets you know about your previous active sessions, where you login and which devices you used to access your Facebook account. and let you know which operating system and location and device type you log'd in.

Click Account Settings and click Security Page and look for Active Sessions and click Edit. You can kill activities from other devices.

iv. Activating Private Browsing

Private Browsing : Browse the web without saving information about the sites you visit, every browsers remembers lots of information for you, sites you've visited like history, cookies, downloaded files and more. Private Browsing allows you stealth mode. for example if you browsing any website or using facebook in your collage or any internet cafe, you can use Private browsing to hide your activities.

v. Avoid 'Keep me Logged in'

Whenever you login your Facebook account, at login page there's a small checkbox that says Keep Me Logged in, always you should keep that box is unchecked.

vi. Create a Strong Password

i advised you to create a strong password for your account not only facebook, every where even emails or twitter etc, always use a strong password. 

some people try to guess your password with you identity, never use any defualt names or dictionary words. The best passwords would have the combination of small and capital letters, numbers and symbols.
